I hope your Christmas was merry and bright. Ours was absolutely wonderful! Although, I did overdo it a bit (trying to move about without the walker) and I’m paying the price today!

I’d planned on posting photos of my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day tablescapes, but I haven’t even begun to format those photos yet. Coincidentally, I was featured on the front page of the Arizona Republic today, so I’ll share that article with you instead and save the tablescapes for tomorrow.

You may recall that I told you the photographer from the Republic was coming, only two days after my release from the hospital, to take a photo of me with my cookbooks for an article about Millennials and recipes… well, here it is.

Here I stand, on my own power, painfully clutching my first edition of Mastering the Art of French Cooking, the walker was pushed away. Anything for a bit of good press! 🙂

Thrifty Millennials feeding recipe culture

By Karen Fernau

Food blogger Linda Hopkins admits being a sucker for recipes. She has clipped and saved volumes since childhood. An additional 1,200 cookbooks, down nearly 800 after a recent purge, line her kitchen bookshelves.

Like other recipe fanatics, enough is never enough.

“There’s just something about recipes that’s hard to resist,” said Hopkins, owner of Les Petites Gourmettes Cooking School, kids cooking school in her Scottsdale home. “I could never cook every recipe, but I keep them just the same. It’s just a recipe thing.”

Great article! And you look wonderful in the photo, would never guess you’d just gotten out of the hospital.

Merry Christmas, Linda! Oh and p.s. I thought of you Christmas eve when I was once again whipping up a batch of your famous dinner/cinnamon roll dough — they are now an annual tradition at my house!

Best wishes for the new year!

Thanks Sloane and Tram – for raiding your hotel and assignment desk and getting me copies! I usually run out to the newsstand at McDonalds and raid it myself, but wasn’t quite up to it early this morning (you gotta get there early or all those Egg McMuffin lovers take all the papers!) And Audrey, so happy that is now your family tradition too! We missed out on the dinner rolls this year, but we used extra frozen dough from Thanksgiving (very thankful I had that!) for our cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. Have a very Happy New Year! xoox
